Dear Resident
Officers are appealing for information and CCTV footage from the public following an incident where a man was chased down a street in Buntingford by someone with a weapon. At around 5.30pm on Sunday 7 June, a 17-year-old boy was chased by someone who was reportedly in possession of a weapon described as a chisel, on High Street. It is believed that the victim who did not sustain any injuries went into a nearby pub for protection. PC Chris Ciepiela who is investigating said: “I would like to speak to anyone who was in the area when this incident occurred on Sunday evening. “I am particularly interested in speaking to the members of the public who were coming out of a pub on High Street to intervene, we would like to speak to them to assist with our ongoing enquiries. “I want to reassure the public that this is being treated as an isolated incident and there is believed to be no wider threat to the community.” Anyone with information can contact PC Ciepiela via emailing chris.ciepiela@herts.police.uk.
